Stewart, 26, works for Micron. He rides a 1998 Suzuki GSX-R750 and paid
£100 for his secondhand BKS gloves. "My mate paid £200 for them new. When he sold his bike to buy a house I made him a cheeky offer and he accepted. Surprisingly, they fit me like, er, a glove. I've done over 10,000 miles in them, it took about 2000 of those to get used to them. The leather's very thick - the opposite of the Dainese gloves I owned before - and there's armour in all the right places. Feel is good for their weight and I know they'll protect me in a crash." |

Andy Smith, 43, a firefighter, rides a Honda Blackbird and paid a measly £95 for his BKS two-piece leathers. "I bought them secondhand, they should have cost about £1300. Even this well used they're still fantastic. They fit well, look good and even smell nice. I've done 12,000 miles in them without crashing." |

Andy Campbell,
37, from Peterborough, works in the armed forces and owns a '97 Suzuki 1200
Bandit. "I bought my Akito leathers in November '98 when I went to the NEC. They're a brilliant fit but I started to get problems after 8000 miles. The cuff straps are a tad uncomfortable, the right arm zip broke and the stitching on the slider patches has come apart. I think I would have a different one next time but only because I would like a bit more colour. They were a good price though - reduced from £280 to £180." |
